I'm a pretty low lvl Conjurer though but there don't seem to be that many people lvling during a big fort war like yesterday, cause we all go to defend, lol.

Syrtis may have a lot of mobs, but we tend to group up a lot. We often get slaughtered by the AoE Knockdown + Projectile Rain / Fireball combos. This really destroys us when we're trying to capture a foreign fort that is being defended. When we're trying to take down the fort door, most of the Syrtis mages will also group up and hide behind the corner/wall, making them extremely susceptible to AoE -- it took me a few deaths to learn that it wasn't a safe spot, heh.

We also don't really play with much organization. It seems to be pretty difficult to organize that many players so it just ends up being a mobbing. Maybe it'd be better to form up smaller parties to take back or hold forts more tactically -- at least we'd have a clear chat channel XD

Sometimes Syrtis do fight some fairly organized fort battles. It may look chaotic, but I can see some structure behind it. Warriors up at the front escorted by warlocks with MOD while archers and conjurers hang back. Some conjurers move forward with some area heal and mana spells. The large numbers make it look confusing at times though.

Ignis also has its moments. I have been to several fort battles where we got swamped by ever growing numbers of Ignis forces. Those battles are fun.

I can see the dwindling numbers of alsius players though. Sometimes we just left forts we just took over because no one was coming in to retake it from us.

What really amuses me ever since I entered the warzone for the first time is the fact that we always have to retake our own forts from the enemy instead of defending/manning it as it was designed to be. A fort is a defensive structure, so why are we providing it for the enemy to occupy it everytime they decide to harass us? Because we don't have invasions implemented there really isn't any reason to have them apart from the fun it brings in holding them. Even if we did have realm invasion implemented I doubt if we'd still be manning the forts vigilantly against enemy attacks unless they are strategically located or certain incentives are given for being near/around an "owned" fort.

Yes, the realm owning the fort should own the associated save point too. People bound to the save (e.g, samal save, if Samal is taken by Alsius) would be bound to the closest realm owned save. Then, we would try to protect our forts, and to expand our realm

While that sounds logical (especially the part about claiming territory) the main problem is that the original owners of the fort would have a bloody hard time retaking the fort. The invaders would have it even easier as they don't have to rely solely on conjurers to hold the fort very long. On the plus side, it really drives up the incentive for the original owners to take back the fort 'cos a lost save is a huge loss. Imagine if a realm lost all 3 saves it had in the WZ, they'd have to regroup at the great gate to take back the forts one by one!

Edit: Hmmm, I actually like the sound of the idea. It just needs some work on balance issues I think.

Of course they would have a hard time; they should. But the save would be "unusable" (by both camps) for say, 2 hours after fort capture... to avoid the attackers binding there in the meantime... (because then, it would be waaaay too hard). When one realm would be confined to behind their great wall, they would have to get organized and concentrate their efforts on taking the closest fort from their wall . Oh, that would be good...

Two hours would be too long, I reckon. Forts (normally fought as it is currently) can change hands several times in the space of one hour. Another alternative could be that by capturing an enemy realm's fort will disable the save related to the fort and it would revert back to normal as soon as the fort is recaptured by its original owners.
