Default Crash when I see an attack

My client crashes when I see somebody attack (something). Not always, but like 80% times. This makes the game kind of unplayable for me. Any ideas how to solve this?

Running Lubuntu 13.10

Turn off weapon trails and the other trail or beam effect (don't know how they are called exactly in the english version) in the game options, this options are causing crashes with certain graphic chips (Nvidia GeForce 9000 series for example). The problem is known since 3 or 4 years already and it seems that it won't be fixed ever.

Now, however, you sadly won't be able to see where missile attacks are coming from & unless you watch your health, may not be aware that you are even being attacked. Personally, I think this is currently the most infuriatingly lame linux 'feature' in CoR. Beams didn't work for years, then they worked again for awhile, & several months ago, they quit working again. NGD, FIX WEAPON BEAMS FFS!!!
