me salio el cartelito de placa no soportada, directX y todo eso...
pero baje driconf, active esa compresion de texturas algo asi y ahora esta descargando la actualizacion, senial que va a funcionar

Sí, el "problema" hasta ahora son las texturas con la I950. Sin embargo, no sé si la 901 trae un intel i960, que cambia MUCHO las cosas. Hay drivers libres y de muuuy buen soporte comparándolos a los viejos.

Estás probando con Etch o con Syd? Porque las implementaciones de Mesa creo que variaron, si no me equivoco, entre la unstable y la actual.

Todavía no le cambio el SO (tengo que conseguir pendrive y/u otra SD), es como viene la eeePC de fábrica, con el xandros
pasa que llegó el presidente de la empresa, así que no da para andar probando un jueguito

Jejeje, puede ser "un juego", pero explicale que pueden ser potentes "Thin clients".

Si estás en Xandros creo que vas a tener que compilar desde la fuente, porque los rpm's nunca me dieron confianza. El problema es que seguramente ya están bastante actualizados, así que dudo que haya una solución rápida a esto, más que esperar a una versión full o que alguien se digne a adaptar el driver i960... :S

¿Siempre ha usado mesa tu compactita? ¿no hay alguna posibilidad de saber que actualizó? XD

las últimas versiones de todo-lo-que-tenga-que-ver-con-las-Xs me han dado algún que otro quebradero (*), en mi caso se solucionó regenerando el xorg.conf

(*) No se como hacer que en el portatil de mi hermano funione el servidor X con el nuevo xorg (le tengo obligado bajo pena de colleja (#) no actualizar esos paquetes) (generando uno automático y testeandolo directamente no funca, se bloquea (driver de intel i915 si no recuerdo mal, algo parecido)).

El problema es que desde que le puse debian (un mes después de comprarla mas o menos), tuve siemrpe esos xorg.conf mínimos, incluso puede funcionar si lo borro, hasta toma bien la resolución rara 1024x600 sin que se lo pida...
Supongo que tengo que cargar un módulo a mano...pero no se cual
