-xp bugged - Page 2

Wat! can your total experience points actually go down after a battle? Its a bit tricky to do some before & after pics - but I agree that this is wholly aburd for the -XP to be taken off the whole nominal XP versus the actual XP.

Well as this is the first time its happened we had no idea what would happen with -xp. This isnt what i would of liked to happen. (i will say its humerous) and i hope NGD fixes this soon.

As far as calling us warmongers goes. This is a game about WAR! Aren't we supposed to be fighting each other? i dont understand ppl that call us warmongers in a game where the purpose is to capture enemy forts and kill them... Are some of you conscientious objectors in an online game? Because that seems a little odd.

Yeah Terek, its best to ignore them and read the underlying issue. If having fun playing the game makes it unplayable for other players, then its hard to have fun with a clean conscience.

I will go on record saying that this is a great engine and a great game. I love the fact that it runs native on linux and I am supporting the Argentina Republic's economy. However, I'm worried about the playability of the game - it is still too grindheavy.

So if you get 1 rp, your reward will be: 42(+RLM -76) = -180% xp instead of -10%

I think in ignis the bonus xp is bugged too, and they are collecting too much xp atm.
Imagine: 42(+RLM +87) = +207% xp instead of +15% bonus

I have to completly agree in here, this game is based in 3 realms fighting each other to death. I don't get why people whine because they got defeated by the enemy. The XP malus looks completly fine to me, there's no need for a fix, you can easily re-obtain the lost XP back. This also makes the wish more worth it.
Though there are some people who take this whole thing too serious, even developing fetishes to kill a certain player.

Ignis got RLM bonus first and they saw it's bugged, and that's why they gave xp malus to syrtis, very nice bug abuse

Very nice accusing an entire realm of cheating without proof, just because something you don't like happened.

Sorry, but our realm has all the secretive and MMO-abusing ability that God gave to Styrofoam cups.

Sorry, I'm getting tired of seeing whole realms (and it's not just Ignis) accused of cheating and bug abusing.

We got our xp bonus after we gave you -xp, because the last wish we got was +xp. So we couldn't take +xp before we gave you -xp, which was the major motivating factor behind the second attempt at opening the portal.

Im pretty sure your not allowed to directly or indirectly accuse anyone of bug abuse on the forums as I recall from the many times game mod has directed me to read the forum regulations.

Maybe before making blind accusations you should ask which came first since your not in ignis?

Anyway, there is no way of knowing if this is a bug unless NGD deems it so.

Look, before this gets too heated, there was no way they could have known the xp malus wish would have that kind of affect. It's not bug abusing if they didn't know about it. :P

Also, +xp and -xp are different calculations, so who knows whether or not one or the other or both would be bugged. I'm certainly not calling anyone a bug abuser.

Offtopic:

On the warmongering bit, maybe that was too strong a word on my part. I like war as much as the next person because grinding is absolutely abysmal. I will usually do my best to aid our realm in defending our home forts, and to help chase away enemy groups from our market area. I also try to track and warn people when there's enemies coming into a grind area like orc camp.

However, I don't commonly go on the offensive these days because I simply don't have enough levels, and I'm ---slowwwwww--- at leveling. I've been playing fairly consistently at night for a few hours since the update, and I just got to lvl 52 a couple nights ago. Can't use scrolls, can't afford them right now. A lot of other people have gotten to lvl 60 or even 55 or 56 in a short amount of time, and it's just gotten to the point where my character is not so efficient or helpful in wars. So, I grind. Once I get to the point where I feel more useful, I will grind less. *shrug*

With a good group, I can get maybe 10 to 20k xp in about half an hour of grinding. In war, I'm lucky to get 5k xp in a full hour. Grinding mobs is still the most stable and efficient way to gain xp. In war, you might get a lot of xp in short bursts, but it's not a guaranteed thing, and with the same people attacking over and over, you eventually stop getting xp because you've killed or helped kill the same players too many times, so eventually you get diminishing return.
